74th Annual Kendall Arnett begins
California’s oldest and finest Basketball Tournament began it’s three day run on Monday 12-28-15. This tournament with the 79 year old Earl Crabbe Gymnasium as the backdrop creates memories that last a lifetime.
This gym is a throwback to a bygone era. Made entirely of wood, this Hoosier type facility is the jewel of Placer High School. Every pennant the Hillmen has ever won since 1903 are hung on these walls.
Athletic Director and Boy’s head Basketball Coach Mark Lee is the keeper of the Kendall flame.
Eight teams vie for the title of Kendall Champion. Last night four teams advanced into the winners bracket and will play in the semi-finals tonight. In the first semi-final game, Bear River will take on the Del Campo Cougars. The nightcap game features The Placer Hillmen against Rio Americano. The Bear River Game begins at 6:30 pm followed immediately by the Placer Game at 8:00pm.
Veteran sports announcers Marty Mortensen, Paul Brown and Steve Sitter will call the Bear River game. Placer Alumni and former Hillmen Pete Dufour and Carey Caeser will announce the Placer game.
